Armstrong School District Looking for College/Career Fair Company Participants

On behalf of the Armstrong School District counseling department, I  would like to invite you to participate in Armstrong High School’s  4^th  Annual College and Career Fair – “To Your Future and Beyond” which will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm.

This year, we are excited about the prospect of having more employers participate in order to expose students to the career opportunities that await them.  In addition, we will be joined by many representatives from post-secondary institutions, apprenticeship programs, military and financial aid. 

We will again be bussing students in from Leechburg, Apollo-Ridge, Freeport, Lenape Tech and West Shamokin high schools so they may join Armstrong High School’s sophomore, junior and senior classes for this exciting event.  We expect to have an even greater student turnout than we had in September 2018, as we project 900+ attendees in 2019.  We are also coordinating activities to engage the students and encourage greater interaction and discussion with participating post-secondary representatives and employers.

If you are interested in participating, please return the completed registration form by the Thursday, August 22, 2019 deadline to guarantee that your organization’s name will be added to the list of attendees for the purpose of advertising this event to students.  Registrations received after the deadline date will be honored until all spaces are filled.   Be aware that there is no registration fee for employers, military personnel or apprenticeship program representatives.

Although we do not foresee inclement weather in September, there is always the possibility of an emergency situation which may result in a school closure. If you are interested in receiving a text message alert in the event of a cancellation, please include your mobile phone number on the attached registration form.

For those of you who will be traveling, overnight accommodations can be arranged through Holiday Inn Express and Suites, 13 Hilltop Plaza, Kittanning, PA.  Reservations can be made by calling the Holiday Inn at 724-543-5200.

Additional information, directions to our school and parking instructions will be sent out a week prior to the event to the contact email address provided on the registration form.  As always, please feel free to share information regarding this event with colleagues in the event they too would be interested in participating.
