Course Objectives

To learn about the changes and requirements of the AS9100™ Rev D standard.

Course Outline

This course will provide an explanation of the changes from AS9100C to the AS9100D Standard.  Through lecture, discussion and practical examples we will discuss the differences between the standards, review the AS9100 requirements in-depth and the impact of the changes on your organization.

The following topics will be covered:

  • Reasons for the changes
  • Integration and alignment with the ISO high level structure
  • New and revised terms and definitions applicable to AS9100
  • Specific new requirements such as context, interested parties, organizational knowledge, counterfeit parts, etc.
  • The increased emphasis on risk based thinking and risk management
  • Emphasis on quality objectives measurement
  • Communication and awareness
  • Change management
  • Diminished and deleted requirements
  • Clarification of concepts and terminology presented within Annex A

With the new standard in place, organizations will find it easier to incorporate their quality management system into the core business processes and gain greater business benefit.

About the Trainer

Craig J. Wilson, Sr. Quality/Process Improvement Consultant

Mr. Wilson has more than twenty years working as a supervisor, manager and advisor in quality assurance and production. Since joining Catalyst Connection in February 1993, he has helped companies in the aerospace, automotive, chemical, defense, food processing and medical industries to develop and implement effective quality management systems. He holds a BS degree in Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from West Virginia University. Mr. Wilson is a certified AS9100 Aerospace Experience Auditor with Probitas and a QMS Lead Auditor with Exemplar Global. He is a senior member in the American Society for Quality, an ASQ Certified Manager of Quality /Organizational Excellence, Certified Quality Engineer, and Certified Quality Auditor.  Additionally, Mr. Wilson as an IAQG certified Instructor for the AS9100 Aerospace Auditor Transition Training
