Journeyman Surface Grinders
| Safely manufacture components for progressive staming dies and spare components for a variety of industries; plan and prepare work, analyze tasks and establish appropriate sequence of operations; read blueprints and job orders for product specifications, material specifications, grinding stock, and due dates; set and operate and operate precision grinding machines; select grinding wheel, speeds and feed rates for each operation; verify dimenisions of ground work piece for conformance to specifications using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, comparators and gauge blocks; check grinder for proper maintenance and wheel preparation; grind component to blueprint specifications and stock allowances; potential to operate CNC equipment |
Job Requirements:
| High school diploma or GED; Journeyman papers or four years of precision grinding experience required; willingness to cross train on different equipment; excellent blueprint reading, understanding of GD&T; and mechanical and math abilities; experience with any of the following: centerless, cylindrical, jig, surface or contour grinding; commitment to quality, speed and accuracy |
