Manufacturing Pre-Apprenticeship Certificate at Lawrence Crossing & LCCTC

Classes to be held at BC3 at Lawrence Crossing & Lawrence County Career & Technical Center
Designed to develop entry-level skills that enable graduates to start a career in manufacturing. Careers include Machine Operators, Machinist Apprentices, Quality Apprentices, CNC Apprentices, Assemblers, Maintenance, Press Operators, etc.
Grant-Funded & Free to Students: This program is grant-funded by the PA Department of Labor & Industry. It is FREE to students who meet the requirements. Class materials are covered as well as an opportunity to earn 2 NIMS and 3 NTMA credentials.
Requirements:
• Successful completion of a drug screening
• Certified background check
• Vocational screening assessment
• High School Diploma or Equivalency
Agenda:
- Dates: October 15- December 13
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday – 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
- 5 labs at LCCTC Nov 8, 12, 13, 14, & 15 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm
- Topics Covered:
- Basic shop safety
- Basic blueprint reading
- Hand and electronic measuring instruments
- Quality processes and procedures
- Manufacturing processes
- Basic shop equipment operation
- Introduction to CNC
- Industrial for truck classroom certification
- In addition to the dates and time above students will study these topics:
- OSHA 10: December 17&18, 8:00 am – 1:30 pm
- Employability Skills: December 19, 20 & 21, 8:00 am – 12:00 pm
