Workplace Violence Seminar
April 24, 2018
BCMC hosted Trooper Ron Kesten from the Butler barracks of the Pennsylvania State Police.
Trooper Kesten provided active shooter training. An incident with a single active shooter is usually one-15 minutes. When multiple shooters are involved it can last hours, days, or weeks. Ambulance and firefighters do not come onto the scene until police have secured the scene. Sixty percent of incidents end before police arrive.
In many cases, staff needs to be able to handle first aid needs. Companies should have lockdown procedures and an emergency operation plan. Companies should make sure that all employees have knowledge of escape routes, hiding places, emergency procedures and rally points.
Trooper Kesten is available for more information by calling 724-284-8100, ext 249.
