June 14, 2020

Insurance Carriers to Address Health-Care Costs
Affordability is the defining issue in health care and always a top concern for smaller businesses. Although there is no silver bullet to contain health-care costs, there are some actions that employers can take. Here, representatives from insurers UPMC Health Plan, Highmark and United HealthCare will tackle the main drivers of costs and the importance of education, which will lead to a cultural shift over the next decade. A question-and-answer will follow.

Key discussion topics:
Health-care cost trends and prescription drug costs: What is the impact of COVID-19 and how will it shape future costs?
New and innovative technologies: What are they and are there cost saving benefits?
The individual’s role in their own health: Can costs be cut through maintenance, prevention and addressing chronic conditions?
Shopping for services and transparency tools, etc. What do you supply for your clients now?
